Invited speaker : Serge MORAND - CNRS (France)

Serge Morand is a health ecologist with a background in evolutionary ecology and parasitology. He leads projects on the impacts of global planetary changes (climate, land use, urbanization) on the links between biodiversity, health and societies in Southeast Asia. Researcher at the CNRS, he is based in Thailand at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Kasetsart and Visiting Professor at the Faculty of Tropical Medicine of Mahidol. He is a member of the One Health High Panel of Experts (OHHLEP) of the quadripartite One Health (WHO, OMSA, FAO, UNEP).

09.00 - 10.00 : Keynote lecture 2 - How to strenghten collaboration between human, animal and environnemental health ?

Invited speaker : Alexandra MAILLES - Santé Publique France (France)

Alexandra Mailles is a senior epidemiologist in the department of infectious diseases at Santé publique France, the French public health agency. Her main occupation is the epidemiological surveillance of zoonosis and emerging diseases, outbreaks investigation and preparedness. Dr Mailles completed her education at the veterinary school of Maisons-Alfort. She pursued further specialization in epidemiology and infectious diseases at the University of Bordeaux, thereafter obtaining a PHD degree at the University of Grenoble on infectious encephalitis. Dr Mailles participated to the response to several major outbreaks and crises, including the Ebola outbreak in West Africa in 2014/16 and the recent Covid-19 pandemic.

Invited speaker : Beatrice GRASLAND - French Agency for Food, Environmental and Occupational Health & Safety (ANSES, France)

Béatrice Grasland is head of the avian and rabbit virology and parasitology unit at the Anses, the French Agency for Food, Environmental and Occupational Health & Safety laboratory, in Ploufragan-Plouzané-Niort and head of the national reference laboratory for avian influenza in France. Ph.D. in microbiology, she has been working at the Anses since 2003 in animal virology, first on emerging viruses in pigs such as circoviruses and coronaviruses, then in avian virology from 2018 onwards, particularly on avian influenza and Newcastle disease. Her research work focuses on the characterization of viruses in vitro and in vivo (virulence markers, transmission, etc.), diagnosis and the study of the viral genome evolution as well as inter-species transmission. She participates as an expert in national (Haut Conseil de la santé publique, Anses) and international (EFSA, EMA) committees on these subjects.

Invited speaker : Wim VAN DER POEL - Wageningen Bioveterinary Research (Netherlands)

Wim van der Poel is special professor of Emerging and Zoonotic Viruses at Wageningen University and Research, the Netherlands. He is Doctor in veterinary medicine and has obtained his PhD degree at Utrecht University. He is a specialist within the European College of Veterinary Microbiology (ECVM) and Coordinator of the EPIZONE European Research Group, the largest network on epizootic animal diseases research. Wim van der Poel is an expert on veterinary virology and detection and characterization of new and emerging viruses He has worked on emerging viruses research for more than 30 years and has been involved in many international research projects. Over the past few years Wim van der Poel worked at Wageningen Bioveterinary Research and collaborated with a lot of other research groups in a number of One Health networks, including the EJP One Health, the Netherlands Center for One Health (NCOH) and the Global One Health Research Partnership (GOHRP). Wim van der Poel and relies on a vast network of professional experts in the specific areas of emerging and zoonotic viruses; foodborne viruses and One Health.

Invited speaker : Pr Yazdan YAZDANPANAH, Director of ANRS-MIE

Yazdan Yazdanpanah is the Director of ANRS emerging infectious diseases Agency, Director of the Aviesan/Inserm Institute I3M, Head of the Infectious Disease department at Bichat Hospital and Professor of Infectious Disease at Paris Cité University. Master of Science degree in epidemiology from the Harvard School of Public Health and a Ph.D degree in public health from the Bordeaux School of Public Health. His research interests include the clinical epidemiology of HIV, viral hepatitis, emerging infectious diseases and the pharmaco-economics of antimicrobial agents.
